Will Bubenik
Meet Will Bubenik who is awarded a $10,000 scholarship towards his college tuition. Will is a sophomore in Temple University’s top-ranked Sport & Recreation Management Program in Philadelphia, PA. He is originally from St. Louis, MO. Will is the youngest of four siblings, where all three of his siblings have disabilities. All three siblings actively participated in the Special Olympics, which sparked Will’s interest in sports.
An avid lover of basketball, Will is currently in his second season working for the Philadelphia 76ers as the mascot’s assistant. Additionally, he works for Temple in recruiting for the Sport & Recreation Management program. He is also a member of the Manhattan Sports Business Academy Class of 2016.
Will has been well-traveled during his college career. He attended the Doha GOALS Forum and the Special Olympics in Los Angeles this past summer as a representative for Temple. He has also been a part of trips to NBA Entertainment in Secaucus, NJ, to the NFL Players Association in Washington D.C., and to the MLB League Offices in New York City.
At the end of his college career, Will hopes to open his own business working with retired athletes, helping them with their career after their playing days are over.
Emily Meyerl
Emily Meyerl is a Freshman, Athletic Training student at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC. She is a Baltimore native, who will always stay true to her Ravens and Orioles. A gymnast of 13 years and softball player of 14 years her love of sports is still present today through her major and many aspects of her life. In addition to her love of sports she enjoys baking, being a part of the small group at the Catholic Church on campus. She plans to continue her education at the University of South Carolina in hopes to one-day work as a high school athletic trainer so that she can inspire young students to pursue the profession as she was when she was a student.
Michael Kellstrom
Michael Kellstrom is a Senior at Chatham High School. He is a 3-year varsity letter winner in football and golf, and a four-year varsity letter winner in wrestling. He is only the fifth Chatham wrestler to qualify for the NJSIAA State Wrestling Tournament in Atlantic City, NJ. He is also an Eagle scout and participates in various choir groups at church as well as at school. He plans to attend and play football for St. Lawrence University next year in the fall of 2016.
